Whereas the first Andreanna Marsupial movie jolted Brad Radby’s career to a whole new level, the second seemingly stripped him of all confidence.
Well chronicled are the next years of Mr. Radby’s filmography – the movies are among his worst reviewed, and financially, his least successful. While these professional pitfalls are certainly of note, far more prominent during this time period was Mr. Radby’s personal downfall, due to his excessive and crippling abuse of drugs and alcohol.
Whatever the stimulus for these addictions were – be they professional or personal – it went largely unreported. The causes were easily ignored when the results were so horrifically public and sensationalistic.
It was here, when he directed a scant seven movies in two years, that Brad Radby became known as the “rock star director,” a moniker he would later use in naming his production company, perhaps as a harsh reminder of this dark period.
